Ashill Village Hall Minutes of AGM 20th April 2023
Attendance:
Pat Blackman, Terry Edwards, Steve Darby, Steve Beachamp, Viv Perry, Tony Murphy, Andrew Walker, Kathryn Hebley, Natasha Parkes, Tony Tonge, Rob Tootill and 21 people from the village.
Apologies
Andrea Moutard, Sue Treseder, Julia, Becky Darby, Tony Saunders.
Adoption of previous minutes
The previous minutes were agreed as a true record.
Matters Arising
Carole raised the issue of wifi to the village hall, Pat said that this was still being looked at.
Website Andrew gave an update on the website.
Chairs Report
Pat gave a comprensive reort on the work of the committee over the past year, the marquee area had been concreted to make it more usable, improvements had been made to the park with help from the parish council, the fantastic Jubilee events arranged over 3 days in which the whole village partook. Pat has been on the committee for 10 years and felt that it was time to step down.
She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and thanked for all of her efforts over the last 10 years for all she had done for the village, she was given a rapturous round of applause from all present.
Presentation
The Village, in recognition of Tony Sanders and the Sanders family presented an engraved glass tankard to Will to hand over to Tony.
Tony has been on the committee of the new village hall since its inception in 2008 and a Sanders has been helping with the village/hall for 97 years. Tony is standing down from the committee but as an appreciation of the work of him and his family the meeting agreed to make Tony an honorary Life Member of the committee.
Treasurers Report
Steve Darby gave a comprehensive report on the VH finances including income and expenditure with copies circulated in the room.
Due to fiscal prudence the accounts are in good shape. Steve was thanked for his efforts.
Election of Management Trustees
The following committee members were reappointed: Terry Edwards, Tony Murphy, Tony Tonge, Becky Darby, Viv Perry, Kathryn Hebley, Andrew Walker, Steve Darby, Steve Beachamp, Rob Tootill
The following were elected onto the committee: Jenny Rackham, Will Saunders, Mark Doubleday, Sarah Ashworth.
Ongoing Projects
Hall lights, decoration, boiler deriving, water flushing, blockwork and planting.
Hall Bookings
The hall continues to be well used with pilates, upholstery, skittles, childrens parties and family celebrations.

Repairs to the tennis court were raised Tony Murphy to look into this.
As there was no further business the Chair thanked everyone for their attendance and contributions and the meeting closed at 7.30pm.
